Next Year Setup Information
Posted on 11/30/2021 at 12:30

During the weekend of December 3, 2021, the IT Department will run a process to open the 2022-23 school year for scheduling. As in past years, this process will articulate students to their next year’s school based on their current school and grade level, neighborhood school, and boundary exception. PowerSchool will be available during the setup process, which will be completed by 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021.

All non-resident students must have a current and accurate boundary exception before 4:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021. Non-resident students without a boundary exception will be articulated back to their neighborhood school. To assist schools, we recommend running the Non-Resident Students report to check for students without boundary exceptions. To run the report, select Reports on the left-side menu, select sqlReports, and then expand the group of Enrollment reports. If you need assistance with verifying boundary exceptions, please contact Alma Diaz ([email protected]) or Yvonne Torres ([email protected]) in the Neighborhood Schools and Enrollment Options Department.

IT will be setting up the 2022-23 Scheduling Scenario and attaching the Course Catalog for all district-run Secondary schools in PowerScheduler. Any changes to IT’s default scenario can be done at any scheduling Open Lab or Office Hours, or by submitting an online support request through the Help Desk. Training and Open Lab sessions will be offered beginning in January for site staff responsible for the Course Request Management page’s technical setup in PowerScheduler. Please sign up in Professional Learning.

The following changes will be in effect in PowerSchool as of Monday, December 6, 2021:

  • PowerScheduler will be accessible to users in certain security roles: Power User, Course Requests, View Only, Behavior and Scheduling, and School Administration. Please note, the PowerScheduler link will be hidden from schools that do not use PowerScheduler (i.e., Elementary Schools).
  • District-managed schools will see the 22-23 term in PowerSchool, and in PowerScheduler the scheduling year will be set to 2022-23.
