Microsoft Teams information:
If your work requires access to a conferencing software solution, we recommend Microsoft Teams as an alternative that is already available for all district staff accounts. Teams offers a comprehensive feature set that is very similar to a paid Zoom license. Google Meet is also available.
A prerecorded training session and a robust set of Job-Aids for Microsoft Teams are also available on the Instructional Technology website.
Prior to April 15th, we recommend the following actions:
- Familiarize yourself with Teams by reviewing the self-help materials.
- Ensure your computer has Teams installed and is up to date.
- Download any recorded Zoom meetings you wish to retain. Recordings saved in Zoom Cloud storage after April 15th will be deleted.
- Update any future or recurring scheduled meetings to utilize Teams instead of Zoom.
After April 15th, your existing Zoom account will be downgraded to the free license tier which has a 40-minute limit and a minimal feature set for meetings that you host. There are no changes to your ability to join Zoom meetings that are hosted by other organizations.
Should you require technical support for Microsoft Teams please contact the IT Service Desk.
For non-technical questions regarding this change, please contact Dao Nguyen [email protected]. Please note that individual sites/department will not have the option to purchase Zoom licenses with their own funds.
