Beginning Monday, August 7, 2023, IT will introduce a new grade level in PowerSchool to support Universal Transitional Kindergarten student enrollments and their identification. This grade level will display in PowerSchool as (TK). Please share this announcement with anyone that needs to know.
Enrollment in grade level TK is open to students who will be 4 years old by September 1 and were born between September 2, 2018, and September 1, 2019. To ensure accurate grade level placement, school enrollment staff must adhere to the birthdate guideline and validations in PowerSchool. The Neighborhood Schools and Enrollment Options Department (NSEO) will provide administrators and enrollment clerks with information regarding class placement and the required teacher-to-student ratio based on a recent legislative change.
Important! Grade levels PK4 and PK3 should NOT be used for TK and are reserved for students in specialized settings and State Preschools.
2023-24 pre-registrations for 4-year-olds have been updated in PowerSchool to align with the TK grade level. If you have any questions, please contact your school’s enrollment point of contact at Neighborhood Schools and Enrollment Options (NSEO).
