As a reminder, all district schools have access to a new communication tool called Unified Operations Communication. Since the start of the 2023-24 school year, over 60,000 messages have been sent to parents/guardians! This communication tool is an excellent way to stay connected with parents/guardians using text messages and emails. Messages sent to parents/guardians will be automatically translated into the parent’s preferred language and any responses from the parent/guardian back to school staff member(s) will be translated back into English. Parents and guardians do not need to sign in or download an application

Office Hours Information

  • PowerSchool staff will be hosting three separate virtual office hour sessions this month to assist with answering any questions as schools begin using this new tool. Feel free to drop in to ask any questions you or your teachers may have!

Reminders about Unified Operations Communication

  • Do NOT change any student or parent/guardian information in Unified Operations Communication. Instead, update information in PowerSchool and the changes will appear the next day in Unified Operations Communication.
  • The parent/guardian phone number will be set to the Cell Phone in PowerSchool. If the Cell Phone is missing, the Home Phone will be used. If the Home Phone is missing, the Work Phone will be used.
  • Schools can (and should) use this tool to clean up parent/guardian contact information (phone numbers, emails, preferred language) in PowerSchool. After your school has sent messages to parents/guardians, we recommend periodically checking the Contact Clean Up page to identify any phone numbers which may be incorrect and need to be updated in PowerSchool in order to contact the parent/guardian. If you need to correct a parent’s/guardian’s phone number, please make changes in PowerSchool and the updated information will appear the next day in Unified Operations Communication.
  • Schools can only send messages for students who are enrolled at their school. Students taking classes at your site, from another school, will not be included.
  • If your school has not already done so, identify a Super Admin user at your school site who will control permissions/access to Unified Operations Communication. Submit a Help Desk ticket to request access for the Super Admin at your school.
