Effective Monday, January 30, 2023, IT will make a change to begin displaying current and historical 504 special programs in PowerSchool. The 504 student program identification originates from the PowerSchool Special Ed (IEP) and 504 system and cannot be added or removed by schools in PowerSchool Administrator. Please contact the 504/ADA Office at [email protected] with any questions about 504.
To support school staff in identifying students with a 504 plan, the following changes will be made in PowerSchool:
- 504 Alert – This alert will display in PowerSchool Administrator and PowerTeacher for students with an active 504 plan. The 504 Coordinator’s name will be displayed when clicking on the alert.
- Special Programs - 504 – This report will help identify all students with an active 504 plan at your school. To run this report, select sqlReports, and then look under Enrollment reports.
- Special Program Class Roster – This report was updated to include the 504 special program. This report is accessible in PowerSchool Administrator and PowerTeacher.
Please Note: Sites actively using the "Other Alert" to identify 504 students at their school should remove them, as the information there will not automatically change or align with the 504 special program information coming from the Special Ed (IEP) and 504 system.
While current 504 information will be loaded to PowerSchool on Monday, January 30, 2023, it will take some additional time to develop a process to keep this information up to date between the Special Ed (IEP) and 504 system and PowerSchool SIS.
