Please see the information below regarding changes to PowerSchool, effective Monday, January 31, 2022.

New Reports/Features

  • New Document Delivery Templates: Two new templates have been loaded to support the digital delivery of secondary report cards. Elementary report card template coming soon.
  • New Exit Codes – To comply with CALPADS requirements, two new exit codes will be introduced in PowerSchool.

Other Changes

  • Elementary Report Cards:  This report has been updated to display a student’s correct grade level when selecting a prior term. Please refer to the Elementary Student Progress Reporting handbook for directions on running Elementary Report Cards.
  • Multi Factor Authentication: MFA Duo will be introduced for all users with districtwide PowerSchool access. If your account falls within this category, you will see a change at the login of districtwide applications. You’ll receive a separate email regarding this change.
  • PowerTeacher Videos: We are building our library of video tutorials for teachers. Here are four videos just in time for grading.

  • Student Guardian Email Roster: This new roster was created to assist teachers with easily copying Guardian emails to contact parents, create lists or add them to an address book.  Teachers can access this report by selecting the printer icon, and choosing the Select Print Rosters radio button to select the Student Guardian Email Roster from the dropdown.

Reminders

  • Start Page Alphabet search: To enable the Alphabet (A-Z letters) search in the new experience click on your profile’s user icon (your initials), select Manage Profile, set a checkmark on Display Quick Search Alphabet, then click submit.
  • Reports for Next Year: These reports are essential for gathering information on where students will be enrolled next year and their grade levels.  These reports should be run periodically and up to the end of the school year to ensure students’ next grade and next school are correctly set. To run these reports, select Reports on the left-side menu, select sqlReports, then expand the group of Enrollment reports:
  • Next Year All Students – Shows all students identified to attend your school next year (continuing or new students)
  • Next Year Incoming Students – Shows all new (incoming) students who will be attending your school next year
  • Next Year Outgoing Students – Shows all students who will be attending a different school next year (outgoing students)
  • Students Who May Be Missing Next School – Shows students where we may not know where the student will be attending next year. Use the Scheduling Setup page, in PowerSchool, to set the Next School to your school for these students or to indicate the student is Not continuing next year.
